My name is Lev Medvedev and I attended the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, and later the Moscow University of Oil and Gas, where I received MS in applied mathematics and computer science.

I came to the US in 1991 and spent most of my life working as an engineer, manager and director for small and large high-tech companies (including Hewlett-Packard, Cisco and IBM). My schedule allows me to teach Math and Physics to a limited number of students, which I thoroughly enjoy.

My love for teaching started when I attended Moscow's School #2, for gifted math and physics students. I was fortunate to learn from the some of best Russian teachers: Boris Geidman (math) and Valeria Tichomirova (physics). As a student, I won several high school competitions in math, physics and structural linguistics, including Moscow city and Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology competitions.

I am inspired to help those students who are falling behind and to challenge each of my students to attain greater level of understanding of core concepts, instead of trying to memorize the material. I've been successful in achieving these goals.

Here is one of my students' testimonials: "I would like to share with you my great experience with my math tutor Lev Medvedev. Lev started to teach me in the beginning of this academic year and I can say that he is an outstanding tutor. I had already studied with other tutors and when I started to prepare for SAT exam this summer, I found out that I did not have enough knowledge to pass the test successfully. When I started to study with Lev, I noticed that my math skills dramatically improved and my grades became excellent. Also, I can understand new material much faster and easier.

Performing in charity concerts as a singer/guitar player.
